In the last few days, Owen Beck was traded to the OHL. The Habs prospect, who was playing for the Peterborough Petes, headed to Saginaw to join the Spirit.
He joined a much better team, but more importantly, the team that will host the Memorial Cup, so Beck is sure to be part of the tournament no matter what happens between now and the end of the Spirit’s season.

Tonight, Beck played his first game in his new uniform, as he took on the Windsor Spitfires.
And clearly, Beck understands the importance of leaving a good first impression.
In the first 40 minutes of the game, Beck collected three assists. He was an accomplice to the goals of Zayne Parekh and Michael Misa (twice rather than once).
It didn’t take long for the chemistry to develop with Misa, the young prodigy who will be eligible for the 2025 draft.
Then, in the third period, Beck decided to show off his scoring skills, collecting his first goal and fourth point of the game on this sequence:

An unforgettable debut for Owen Beck! 💪

As if that wasn’t enough, Beck added a fourth assist… before adding a second goal to his tally a few minutes later.
Two goals and six points in his first game is a pretty good first impression, don’t you think?

In the end, the Spitfires prevailed 11-3 in a thorough thrashing. In addition to his six points, Beck finished the game with a +4 rating and having won eight of his 14 duels in the face-off circle.
Not surprisingly, he was named first star of the game.
A huge first outing in his new uniform for Beck, who returns to action Friday night against the London Knights. We’ll see if he can keep up his six-point-per-game pace, hehe.

In Laval, another hopeful of the Habs organization shone tonight. Despite a heartbreaking 6-5 overtime loss, Joshua Roy scored two goals. He now has 12 goals and 30 points in 33 AHL games this season.

And speaking of big performances tonight, it’s impossible not to mention that of Marie-Philip Poulin, who was in action in the PWHL this evening.
The world’s best player, who hadn’t found the back of the net in the first two games of the season, decided she’d had enough and did something big to remedy the situation: she scored a hat trick.
The Montreal team won 5-2 against the New York team.
Without hesitation!

With the Habs in need of goals and having a very tough game against the Flyers tonight… anyone know if she’s available to play tomorrow night against the Sharks?
