Paris airport ATMs offer multiple currencies

New bank machines at Roissy Charles de Gaulle Airport provide automated currency exchange for travellers.

New automated teller machines at Paris’ Roissy Charles de Gaulle Airport will make things easier for international travellers, by dispensing money in up to three different currencies.

The first multi-currency bank machines have started appearing at select terminals, and the airport plans to continue expanding the program. The new ATMs, developed in partnership with Travelex, are currently located on the departure level of terminals 1, 2A, 2E and 3, but will soon be found throughout the airport.

So far, the machines are capable of dispensing cash in euros, pounds sterling or U.S. dollars, but officials plan to start introducing new currencies based upon customer need, beginning with the yen.

"This new service will allow us to adapt the supply of foreign currencies based on passenger needs. For example, we can provide the yen or even kroners according to the terminal," explained Matthew Daubert, the director of the Aéroports de Paris line of stores.
