Paris Hilton stalker to stand trial

Man was arrested twice outside homes owned by reality TV star.

James Rainford, 36, accused of harassing reality TV star Paris Hilton, was declared fit to stand trial.

The obsessed fan was arrested after showing up twice at residences owned by the 30-year-old star. He faces felony charges of criminal harassment.

Yesterday (August 15), Superior Court judge Jessica Silvers said Rainford would stand trial.

"It’s very clear from all these incidents that you are obsessed with Paris Hilton," Silvers told Rainford after a 90-minute hearing. "This is more personal, and it is scary."

Hilton was not present at the hearing.

Rainford, 36, remains behind bars and will return to court August 29 to set a trial date.

Earlier this year, Rainford was convicted of assaulting Hilton’s ex-boyfriend, Cy Waits, after hitting him on the head outside a courthouse.
