Paris-Story museum turns 20

Exhibit on city’s history celebrates its 20th anniversary.

Paris-Story, a unique and comprehensive museum dedicated to the 2,000-year history of France’s capital city, celebrates its 20th anniversary this year having first opened in 1991, reports Routard.

The main attraction is a 50-minute multimedia presentation offered in a wide variety of languages, including English and French. On a 12-meter-wide panoramic screen, film, photographs, documents and even holographic historical figures will help guide you through the city’s history.

"Poetry, excitement, great music and special effects combine to help you discover Paris on your own," explains the official website. "And if you’re already familiar with Paris, we’ve got some wonderful and unusual surprises for you as well."

While at the museum, be sure to also check out Paris-Miniature, a huge, interactive 3-D map featuring the entire City of Lights in miniature. Combined with touch-screen technology, the map provides information on 156 of the most important Parisian sites.

The attraction also includes the Paris Experience: a gallery of five screens playing short films about the city, including Panorama while going to the top of the Eiffel Tower, as filmed by the Lumière Brothers in 1898.
