Paul Bettany (The Da Vinci Code, Wimbledon) is currently negotiating for a role in Priest.
He would once again be working with director Scott Charles Stewart, with whom he filmed Legion, set to open on January 22, 2010.
Priest takes place in a devastated world after centuries of battles between humans and vampires.
Bettany would turn into a warrior priest when his niece gets kidnapped by a group of killer vampires, and will turn his back on the church to hunt them down.
Bettany will be seen opposite Emily Blunt in The Young Victoria, a film by Quebec director Jean-Marc Vallée. However, a release date has not yet been confirmed.
