Paul Feig undecided on Ghostbusters theme tune

‘Ghostbusters’ director Paul Feig admits he is still to decide whether to include the theme song from the original movies in his reboot.

Paul Feig is still to decide whether to include the ‘Ghostbusters’ theme song in the all-female reboot.

The 52-year-old director is set to helm the eagerly-awaited new movie – which will feature Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon – and he admits he doesn’t know whether to include the tune or not.

He confessed: ”We have ways to bring it in that we’re playing with, so we’ll see.

”It’s such an iconic thing that part of you goes, ‘I don’t want to change it,’ but then another part of you wants to update it. It’s one of the biggest questions we’re faced with.”

Feig also revealed he initially struggled to decide on the cast for the new movie.

He explained to E! Online: ”It took me months to figure out that cast. It all seems so obvious now but if you could hear the combinations I had before that, you would think I was crazy.”

Meanwhile, the director recently revealed he almost quit the project after being ”inundated with hate” for making an all-female reboot.

He said: ”I almost went, ‘Maybe I should just not do this, maybe this is a bad idea’.

”The people that reach out to you most vociferously are the haters. This is the downside of the internet. Let’s say you get bombarded by 500 people. Your Twitter feed is going to explode and you’re like, ‘F**k, the whole world’s against me’. But then you go, ‘Wait, that’s 500 people’.”
