The former Beatle, now 64, blames his wife for the split, saying that she is unreasonable. The two are the parents of a 2 year-old daughter, Beatrice.
A spokesperson for Mills McCartney has confirmed that the former model is not happy that her personal problems are part of the mainstream media. He said, "She is hugely disappointed that matters of such a confidential nature should be aired in public and feels it is inappropriate to speak about such delicate matters when a child is involved."
McCartney, who did not ask for a prenuptial agreement to protect his estimated $1.5 billion estate, has hired Fiona Shackleton to represent him. Shackleton also represented Prince Charles during his divorce proceeding from the late Princess Diana.
McCartney and Mills McCartney were married in June, 2002, four years after the death of McCartney’s first wife, Linda, who died of cancer. Linda and Paul were married in 1969 and had three children.
