Paul McCartney Signs with Mercury Records

Paul McCartney has penned a significant record deal.

McCartney inked a deal with the record label Mercury Records for the British release of his concert album, Good Evening New York.

The legendary ex-Beatle has been avoiding major record labels for a long time, after wrapping up his 40-year contract with Parlophone. He preferred to team with more independent companies, such as One Little Indian.

Good Evening New York was recorded earlier this year at Citi Field baseball stadium, which has replaced Shea Stadium, where the Beatles performed in 1965.

Paul McCartney shared that his three shows were very special to him, reported Orange News. The singer said, "It was three great nights for the band, and for me personally it was very exciting to be back opening a new stadium on the site of the old Shea Stadium, where we had played 44 years previously. Even more exciting because this time round you could hear us!"
