Pearl Jam anniversary festival this summer

U.S. rock band’s 20th anniversary celebration shaping up into summer music festival.

Formed in 1990, Seattle rock band Pearl Jam is preparing to celebrate its 20th anniversary by hosting a summer music festival. One of the key bands of the grunge movement, Pearl Jam has outlasted many of its contemporaries, and is considered one of the most influential bands of the decade.

In addition to the Live on Ten Legs concert album due out January 18, and a slew of Eddie Vedder solo tour dates this March in Australia, the band has announced they will host their very own music festival next summer.

The festival rumour was confirmed by longtime Pearl Jam manager Kelly Curtis on the group’s new Sirius XM radio station earlier this week. Curtis only revealed that festival would be "somewhere in the middle of the country," but he did rule out the band’s hometown of Seattle.

Additional details about the festival – including band line-up and dates – have yet to be released by the group.
