The Seattle group invited 300 unemployed people to attend the performance for a Target commercial, according to the blog site Antiquiet.com.

Blogger Kevin Cogill, who is well known for leaking 9 of the 14 songs from the Guns N’ Roses album Chinese Democracy before its release, said that last week’s Pearl Jam show  was held to promote their new album.

Also according to the site, the group has signed an exclusive distribution deal with the American retail chain, Target, which explains the reason behind the ad.

For the commercial, the group played a song entitled The Fixer several times, while being directed by Cameron Crowe, best known for the films Singles, Jerry Maguire and Almost Famous.
