According to IOL, Cruz dreams of becoming a mother after playing one in the film Volver, directed by Pedro Almodovar. Cruz also admits that she thinks she predicts that parenthood would have its share of problems.
The star plans on putting her career aside to concentrate on having a family. She explained, "In a few years, I want to have a family because I love children so much."
The Sahara star added that she moved to New York to follow her dreams of becoming an actress at the age of 16. Cruz, 32, now realizes how hard that must have been for her parents. She added, "My parents gave me that freedom when I was so young and now I really value that. I know now I would be so protective and possessive of my children. I’m going to have to remember how generous my parents were with me. I know now it probably wasn’t easy for them."
