A pensioner returned home after undergoing surgery to find his house had been demolished.
Philip Williams, 69, travelled to Florida last December to escape the cold winter weather and to have a much-needed operation operation – but when he returned home, his abode was no longer standing.
He said: ”Everything I have, or had, is gone. You don’t expect to leave and get surgery and come back to find everything gone.”
The house was demolished after neighbours told the local authority that it was in poor condition.
He added: ”I’m outraged. They shouldn’t be able to do that. This was preventable. It’s unjust and a tremendous disservice to me.”
