People under 35 suffer from high cholesterol

More and more youth have a high level of bad cholesterol.

Those under 35 are more likely to develop a high level of bad cholesterol. This causes a build-up of fatty deposits and causes artery blockage which leads to heart disease.

A study, which covered 1,500 adults, shows that one in six people under 35 years have a high cholesterol. One in five adults are aware of the situation yet did nothing to improve it, reports the Daily Mail.

Experts mention that even if you’re young and healthy, it is smart to be aware of your cholesterol level. High cholesterol can be a silent killer which does not have any noticeable warning symptoms until it is too late.

Young couch potatoes should pay attention. Although the highest rates of cholesterol were recorded among those aged 45 and over, 26 to 35-year olds are more likely to suffer from the condition too. One reason for this phenomenon is the increasing rate of obesity, particularly due to poor diet and an increased amount of physical inactivity.
