Perry and Lavigne have agreed to become the new faces of Proactiv anti-acne skincare products.
Actress Jenna Fischer is joining the two singers as the new celebrity spokesmodels for Proactiv. In the past, singer Jessica Simpson, actress Jennifer Love Hewitt and tennis star Venus Williams have posed for the brand.
Ben van de Bunt, a Guthy-Renker executive, explained that hiring big stars helps reposition the company against major competitors. Proactiv is the world leader in the anti-acne arena, but closely competes with Clean & Clear by Johnson & Johnson and Skin iD by Neutrogena.
After posing for the Fashion Against AIDS campaign last year for the Swedish fashion label H&M, Katy Perry has decided to help combat acne with its worst enemy, Proactiv. Perry recently announced her engagement to boyfriend Russell Brand.
