People magazine reported that Pete Wentz and Ashlee Simpson seemed to be the most romantic couple at the MTV Video Music Awards last weekend.
Wentz explained, "We’re past the honeymoon period. The truth is, it’s crazy to be able to kiss your best friend. It’s just a really awesome thing."
The guitarist of the group Fall Out Boy has the blessing of his father, as well as that of Joe Simpson, Ashlee’s father.
Wentz insisted that their mutual affection was real. "People like to make it seem different than it is. People will say ‘No one holds hands that much.’ But I’m like ‘Why would you not want to touch the person that you’re in love with?"
