Pete Wentz be jammin’

The former Fall Out Boy frontman releases two new songs inspired by island music.

Former Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz is with the Black Cards now. His new group released an excerpt of two new songs on its website.

Wentz posted a message for fans about his new direction. "When FOB went on hiatus, I wasn’t really sure what to do with myself. I know I wanted to keep travelling the world with my family (wife Ashlee Simpson and son Bronx Mowgli)."

He went on to talk about his newfound inspiration: "We had been to Jamaica recently. I spent a lot of time hanging around the beaches and I started to get inspired again by songs like ‘two sevens clash’ and ‘warriors’.

Pete Wentz is known for his long messages. He continued on: "I wanted to try a female vocalist cos I couldn’t imagine trying to replace Patrick. Combine all this with my nonsense and ideas. Stuff I could never write or never had any perspective to write from in FOB."

Fans can go to the Black Cards website and sample Club Called Heaven and Beating In My Chest.
