Pete Wentz and his wife, Ashlee Simpson-Wentz, did not plan on becoming parents, but the surprise pregnancy, which led to the recent birth of Bronx Mowgli, was a happy accident.
In an interview with Details magazine for the December issue, Pete Wentz spoke about his new role as a dad. "It was a happy accident. But I think that certain things happen for a reason in your life, and maybe it was time to put the wild child in a cage," he said.
Wentz was talking about his rock star past, where he was taking a considerable amount of prescription drugs, and even overdosed on Ativan, to counteract anxiety, in 2005.
The star admitted that Heath Ledger’s fatal overdose was a revelation for him, as well as meeting Ashlee Simpson, who is a positive influence in his life. Now, he hopes to be the best father possible.
