Peter Gabriel announces North American tour

Former Genesis lead singer traveling with 46-piece orchestra.

Former Genesis lead singer Peter Gabriel has just confirmed that he will be hitting the road in June bound for North America with his 46-piece New Blood orchestra, reports Consequence of Sound.

Last year, his 2010 New Blood Tour covered songs by other artists like Lou Reed, David Bowie and Radiohead, as he did on his album Scratch My Back.

This time, the upcoming summer tour will include orchestral performances of Gabriel’s extensive back catalog, including Don’t Give Up, Rain, and San Jacinto.

The classical orchestra does not include an electric guitar, electric bass or modern drum kit, which should allow Gabriel’s vocals to shine.

The new tour begins June 10 in Berkeley, California, and moves eastward, ending in Saratoga Springs, New York, on June 27.
