According to Variety, Sarsgaard has been given a role in the political thriller. The Jarhead and Flightplan star will work with Jake Gyllenhaal and Reese Witherspoon in the project from New Line Cinema.
The film is based on a story by Kelley Sane. The story centres on a CIA analyst whose existence is shaken after attending the interrogation of a suspect carried out by the Egyptian secret service.
Filming for Rendition will begin this fall. Gavin Hood has been selected to direct the full-length feature film. Hood also directed the successful film Tsotsi.
