This sequel, is no longer in the top ten at the box-office. It made 4.9 million during Labour Day Weekend, giving it a North American total of $414 million, the sixth best result of all time.
Among the foreign markets, the most popular for this movie, was in Great Britain with $94 million and Japan $78 million. Italy should have good numbers when the movie is released on September 15.
Despite its great success, it has little chance of beating Titanic which made $1.83 billion, or Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, which is still $130 million dollars ahead of it.
The third film in the sequel, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End, will be in theatres on May 25, 2007.
