Upscale Italian fashion brand Miu Miu from the Prada fashion house has unveiled its chic and playful spring-summer jewelry collection, reports Vogue.
Having recently launched a collection of mini-bag charms, designer Miuccia Prada continues her adventurous creation of original accessories, reports Vogue.
The new collection features vibrantly-colored jewelry that includes necklaces, earrings and brooches. The unique necklace designs combine different sizes of colored beads punctuated with a brooch ornament.
The chunky jewelry is displayed on a damask-covered bust that also serves as packaging for the designs. The new line is already available in Miu Miu boutiques worldwide and online at miumiu.com.
Last week Miu Miu announced that young actress Hailee Steinfeld, 14, had been chosen to star in its autumn-winter 2011 advertising campaign. The young actress, who was nominated for an Oscar for her role in True Grit with Jeff Bridges, follows in the footsteps of Katie Holmes, Vanessa Paradis, and Kristen Dunst among others.
Miuccia Prada created the Miu Miu brand in 1993 as a way to alert the public to sophisticated and avant-garde new trends in fashion. The collection was a success, and includes women’s ready-to-wear, bags, footwear, and accessories.
Prada inherited her grandfather’s company from her mother in 1978, and since then, her originality has made it one of the most influential fashion houses. In 2002, she opened a contemporary art space, Fondazione Prada, which exhibits work by various international artists.
