Porter continues Myrtle Beach flights through autumn

Popular golfing destination boosts demand for flights.

Following exceptional winter and spring seasons for round-trip flights to golfing paradise Myrtle Beach, S.C., Porter Airlines has decided to start offering autumn flights from Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport.

As the only non-stop service from Canada to Myrtle Beach, Porter offers twice-weekly round-trips on Thursdays and Sundays, beginning September 8, until November 20.

Regular one-way fares start at $179, plus taxes. Connections are available in Toronto for Ottawa, Montreal, Quebec City, Thunder Bay, Sault Ste. Marie and Windsor.

“We’ve doubled the winter-spring service to four flights weekly, which shows there is considerable interest in travelling conveniently and comfortably to Myrtle Beach from Canada.  This response gives us confidence that adding fall flights will be equally popular,” said Robert Deluce, president and CEO of Porter Airlines.

The Myrtle Beach area offers over 100 championship golf courses suited to all abilities and budgets, as well as almost 100 kilometres of sandy beaches for non-golfing travellers.

Porter only began operating in Myrtle Beach last winter, and the current winter-spring schedule continues until May 23.

Custom golf packages can be arranged by Ultimate Golf Vacations, www.ultimategolf.ca.  Flight-only options are available for booking through travel agencies, www.flyporter.com, or Porter’s Call Centre at (888) 619-8622.
