Prince George ‘entitled’ to change religion

Britain’s Prince George is ”perfectly entitled” to change his religion and The Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby insists he wouldn’t have a problem if the youngster chose to become a Buddhist.

Britain’s Prince George is ”perfectly entitled” to change his religion.

The Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, led the three-month-old royal’s christening on Wednesday (23.10.13) but admits he wouldn’t have a problem if the youngster – who is third in line to the British throne – chose to change from his Christian faith.

When asked by Channel 4 News how he would react if George wanted to leave the Church of England to become a Buddhist, he replied: ”He’s perfectly entitled to be that, and we’ll cross that bridge if we ever get to it. Who knows?”

In the archbishop’s christening address at the Chapel Royal at St James’s Palace in London, he urged George’s parents, Prince William and Duchess Catherine, to ”make sure” the little one ”knows who Jesus is”, and said: ”Speak of him, read stories about him. Introduce him in prayer.”

George’s grandfather Prince Charles has previously claimed he wants the youngster to be seen as the ”Defender of Faiths” rather than ”Defender of the Faith”, which has reportedly caused controversy among the Anglican Church.
