Prince William ‘jealous’ of Prince Harry’s Polar trek

Britain’s Prince Harry claims his brother Prince William wishes he could take part in the South Pole Allied Challenge 2013 to escape his ”screaming” baby son.

Britain’s Prince Harry claims Prince William is ”jealous” of his Polar trek.

The 29-year-old royal has joked his older brother secretly wishes he could join him on his South Pole Allied Challenge 2013 charity race in order to escape from his noisy four-month-old son, Prince George.

Speaking from Antarctica, Harry told Sky News: ”My brother, I think he’s just quite jealous that I managed to get away from a screaming child.”

The prince is joined on his expedition by 12 former servicemen and women who have overcome life changing injuries, with the aim of raising money and awareness for Walking With The Wounded charity, of which Harry is patron.

The UK, US and the Commonwealth teams have been busy acclimatizing and organising their kit before setting off on the tough 208-mile race, which will see them battle temperatures as low as 45C as well as 50mph winds.

Harry revealed his biggest concern has been reassuring his grandmother Queen Elizabeth and her husband Prince Philip that he would be safe during the 21-day journey.

The royal explained: ”Obviously, I took all the guys to Buckingham Palace to meet my grandmother and grandfather, which they absolutely loved, especially Inge Solheim who was very excited, which was fantastic.

”My father was a little concerned, but I obviously tried to keep him calm and explain the North Pole was the dangerous one because we’re walking on a frozen ocean whereas this time there are crevasses.

”But hopefully the guides will take us around that. Apart from frostbite you should be able to look after yourself as long as you just head south.”
