Prince William’s trip to Africa is cancelled

Britain’s Prince William’s trip to Kenya, Africa, with his wife Duchess Catherine and son Prince George has been cancelled following the Nairobi mall massacre.

Britain’s Prince William’s trip to Kenya has been cancelled.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were keen to take their two-month-old son Prince George to Africa – where the pair got engaged in 2010 – during William’s break after leaving his job as an RAF pilot earlier this month, but the plans have been scrapped following the Nairobi mall massacre.

A royal source is quoted by the Daily Star newspaper as saying: ”They wanted to escape, just the three of them – but it’s all off now.

”The whole place is crawling with al-Shabaab who would love to take a pop at a future king.”

Meanwhile, the royal couple are reportedly moving into their renovated home – which belongs to Princess Margaret before her death in 2002 – in Kensington Palace, London, next week after waiting two years for the refurbishment to be completed.

The Duke and Duchess are keen for the move to be completed in time for George’s christening, which is taking place on October 23 in the Chapel Royal at St James’ Palace.

Duchess Catherine – who was formerly known as Kate Middleton before she tied the knot with William in 2011 – is thought to have had an influence on the interior design of the 20-room apartment.
