The ceremony following a more intimate civil wedding for close friends and family in Frankfurt, Germany, where Claire was born, and among the guests were the prince’s parents, the Grand Duke and Grand Duchess of Luxembourg.

The bride chose a simple white peplum sheath dress for the first wedding before wearing a traditional gown by Elie Saab at the second ceremony in the South of France. The dress featured delicate lace sleeves and a matching white veil.

The couple met while studying at college in Switzerland and announced their engagement in December 2012.
