Princess Eugenie lands New York job
Britain’s Princess Eugenie has landed a job in New York.
The 23-year-old royal – the daughter of Prince Andrew and his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson – has been given a permanent role at online auction house Paddle8
after impressing during a three-month placement, which began last September.
A source told the Mail on Sunday newspaper: »The plan was to spend three months in New York and see how it went.
»But Eugenie has been a big success and they wanted her to stay so she’ll now be there until at least September. »
A spokesperson for the firm confirmed Eugenie’s appointment to the £25,000-a-year benefit auctions manager post, which will see her travel between the UK and the US.
They said: »I can confirm that Eugenie will continue to work in New York. »
While the princess is thrilled with her new job, she is upset at the prospect of spending more time away from her boyfriend, bar manager Jack Brooksbank.
The source said: »Eugenie is loving New York. The hardest thing has been leaving Jack behind, but he told her she had to take the job. »
In her new role for Paddle8 – which is backed by Damien Hirst – Eugenie is expected to work alongside her friend Alexander Gilkes on global online auctions, and also be involved in projects for the firm’s charity offshoot Gavel & Grand.
