Project Delays for Johnny Depp

A little weight is being lifted off Johnny Depp’s slammed schedule, since two of his projects are being delayed until further notice.

Actor Johnny Depp will have to wait before he shoots Shantaram, with director Mira Nair (Vanity Fair), and Dark Shadows, with Tim Burton. The two projects are being postponed.

Regarding Shantaram, the 2007 writer’s strike slowed down this project. Depp was to play a young Australian who escapes from prison and rebuilds his life in the slums of India before combating the Russians in Afghanistan.

Depp still has his work cut out for him, however. Next year, we can see him in The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus.

He will also star in Public Enemies, The Lone Ranger, Alice in Wonderland, Pirates of the Caribbean 4 and Sin City 3, in addition to being the voice behind the character Rango in the animated film of the same name.

Depp is seemingly swamped until 2011.
