Promising results for new anti-aging serum

Vital Light Serum from Clarins available later this month.

French cosmetics company Clarins is introducing a new way to help turn back time and reduce the signs of aging, with their new Vital Light Serum available later this month.

In company research, 71 percent of volunteers said the product gave them a visible reduction in dark spots after two weeks of use. Eighty-four percent saw firmer skin; 85 percent said they had a more radiant complexion; 88 percent saw a more even skin tone; and 57 percent said they had a reduction in wrinkles.

The serum includes hexylresorcinol, an ingredient which lightens dark spots while also protecting the skin from sun damage. As with many Clarins products, it also includes spergularia extract, which reinforces the effects of hexylresorcinol and further reduces pigmentation spots. Hyaluronic acid and katafray extract both help to moisturize skin, while cangzhu extra boots skin cell metabolism, which naturally slows with age.

The serum includes no parabens, sulfates, synthetic dyes, petrochemicals, genetically modified ingredients or triclosan.

The new product is a "highly concentrated anti-age serum that boosts the actions of Vital Light Day and Night while targeting two signs of aging which are difficult to control: dark spots and a darkened complexion and diminished deep-sown luminosity," according to a company statement.
