Kimberley Wyatt and Ashley Roberts announce they are leaving the Pussycat Dolls.
A statement that helps to explain their departure came from another Doll who left earlier this year. At the time, Jessica Sutta said, "I think I was always in the shadows of Nicole [Scherzinger], so I think it’s the chance for me to come out."
Each of the Pussycat Dolls has been taking a break after rumours began to spread about problems at the heart of their group. Last July, Ashley Roberts broke down in tears in front of fans because of the tension.
It was Kimberley Wyatt who first announced she was leaving on Sunday. According to the Daily Mail, she told Loaded magazine, "I love being a Doll, but as far as the variables off-stage are concerned — I just couldn’t do it anymore."
Roberts made her announcement hours after Wyatt. She wrote a letter to fans on her website saying, "It was an amazing ride, and I learned so much! You all mean the world to me and I’m excited to take you all on a new adventure."
Only Nicole Scherzinger and Melody Thorthon remain out of the original five members.
