Quebec City hotel honoured by travel magazine

Hôtel Le Germain-Dominion lands on Condé Nast publication’s Gold List.

Quebec City’s Hôtel Le Germain-Dominion has been ranked among the best in the world by Condé Nast’s Traveler magazine.

As judged by the magazine’s readership, the hotel earned a 94 percent overall satisfaction rating, one of the highest in its group, earning it a spot on the magazine’s coveted Gold List.

Of particular significance, the hotel earned a perfect score in the design category, a distinction shared with less than 20 hotels around the world.

The 60-room hotel is done in a modernist Bauhaus style, blending metal and glass with wood and stone. In a building that is almost 100 years old, contemporary design must be carefully balanced against the historical façade.

The hotel’s continental breakfast and welcoming reception staff were also commended in the magazine article. This marks the fifth time that the Hôtel Le Germain-Dominion has made Traveler‘s Gold List.

Located in Quebec City’s Old Port neighbourhood, the Germain-Dominion is operated by the Groupe Germain, one of five boutique hotels the company operates in Canada.
