Queen Elizabeth to honour Duchess Catherine

Queen Elizabeth will honour the Duchess Catherine with the Royal Family Order, although it is not known when she will pass on the pendant.

Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II will honour the Duchess of Cambridge with the Royal Family Order.

Catherine will reportedly receive the highest honour that can be bestowed upon a female member of the royal family.

Past receivers of the title, include Princess Diana and Prince Charles’ wife the Duchess of Cornwall.

The garment is usually given to female members of the royal family directly from the Queen and can be worn at state occasions, according to Hello! magazine.

However, Catherine will not be announced as receiving the honour as there is no official announcement and it’s not likely to be shown until the state dinner for China’s President Xi Jinping, later this month at the White House, Washington D.C..

The pendant should be pinned on the left shoulder of the recipient and inside is a picture of a younger Queen Elizabeth II in gown wearing the ribbon and star of the Order of the Garter. The jewel is sewn onto a yellow bow and is made of ivory outlined in diamonds.
