Queen featured on next James Bond soundtrack?

Legendary British band may perform theme for upcoming Skyfall.

Legendary British rockers Queen are in the running to record the theme of the next James Bond movie Skyfall, reports NME.

Composer David Arnold, who wrote the score for the last five films in the franchise, said the band’s participation is long overdue.

Admittedly a “massive fan” of the group, Arnold told the Daily Star, “Imagine how ridiculously bombastic a Queen anthem could be. It’s a shame because they would have been perfect for Roger Moore’s Bond during the ’80s when he was punching clowns.”

Other performers have been rumored to be contributing to the soundtrack, including Lady Gaga, Adele, and Noel Gallagher.

Skyfall, starring Daniel Craig as Agent 007, is scheduled to hit theaters next October 2012.

Queen has recently been collaborating with rapper Dappy from British hip hop group N-Dubz.
