According to Variety, Queen Latifah will have the lead role in the upcoming romantic comedy.
Written as a modern-day Cinderella story, the film follows a physiotherapist who falls in love with the basketball player that she’s treating. The athlete hopes that he can recover from his injuries, which are threatening his career.
Disney has been working on this project for six years, but Fox Searchlight finally got the green light and will start shooting in May.
In the meantime, Queen Latifah will be the voice of Ellie in Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs. She will also star in the comedies Welfare Queen and All of Me.
