In an interview with Essence magazine, the star confessed for the first time that she was a victim of child sex abuse, reports Perez Hilton.
The actress revealed that a babysitter attacked her when she was young, which led to difficulties in her relationships as an adult.
Latifah stated, "He violated me. I never told anybody. I just buried it as deeply as I could and kept people at an arms length. I never really let a person get too close to me. I could have been married years ago, but I had a commitment issue."
