Radiohead surprises fans at Glastonbury

Alt rockers perform secret show at music festival.

The rumors of a secret show proved true as Radiohead took to the stage for a surprise concert at U.K.’s Glastonbury Festival on Friday (June 24), reports Spinner.

The English alt rockers weren’t on the schedule to perform, but that didn’t stop them from stepping onto the festival’s Park Stage as evening descended and a light rain began to fall.

"We’re here to get in free," frontman Thom Yorke joked, explaining that festival organizer Michal Eavis had promised them free tickets if they performed at the event.

The group used the opportunity to introduce tracks from their newest album, which has been receiving mixed reviews.

"We’re Radiohead. For the first time this year we’re going to play some ‘King of Limbs,’" Yorke said as he stepped up to the microphone. "We’re all massively nervous about this."

The new tracks received a rather subdued response from the crowd, however classics like All I Need, Weird Fishes/Arpeggi and 15 Step pleased concertgoers.
