Radiohead to perform live concert… online

Alt rock band will play entirety of The King of Limbs on web show From The Basement.

Alt rock band Radiohead is planning to give a live web concert rather than going on tour to promote their new album, The King of Limbs, reports Clash Music.

During a live broadcast of the popular web show From the Basement, the 55-minute performance will showcase the album in its entirety, the first time the band has played the new material for the general public. The webcast is the creation of Nigel Godrich, who has produced many of Radiohead’s albums.

BBC Worldwide Music Television has signed an agreement with the band to broadcast the performance, along with behind-the-scenes footage. Radiohead – The King of Limbs: Live from the Basement will air July 1 in several international markets.

"It is a real honor to be working with Radiohead on this project," said Salim Mukaddam at the BBC. "Radiohead are a band that rarely performs for television, but when they do, it’s a moment to savor.

“There is already huge anticipation for this performance and we’re delighted that they’ve decided to work with us at BBC Worldwide… As a fan I cannot wait to see these beautiful songs brought to life in this program."
