Radiohead to tour in 2012

Frontman Thom Yorke reveals the band will perform a series of concerts next year.

English alt rockers Radiohead will hit the road next year in support of their new album, The King of Limbs, frontman Thom Yorke revealed during an interview on BBC Radio 1.

"The idea is to go out and play next year on and off during the year," Yorke told host Gilles Peterson during Monday night’s show (September 19), explaining that the band was still riding high on the success of their set at Glastonbury Music Festival this summer. "It feels like a good idea, now that we figured out how to play it, to go and do it in front of people for a bit."

Clive Dreamer of Portishead may be returning to reprise his role as guest drummer during the tour, after filling in during Radiohead’s performance at Glasto, Yorke also hinted.

Meanwhile, Yorke has certainly been keeping busy with his super-group Atoms for Peace, which contains other legendary musicians Flea, Joey Waronker, Nigel Godrich, and Mauro Refosco. During the interview, he revealed that the group would soon be releasing a collaborative album, although the exact release date has yet to be announced.
