Radiohead unveils rare new songs for Record Store Day

The Butcher and Supercollider will finally be available to a few lucky fans on April 16.

English alt rockers Radiohead are issuing two previously-unreleased tracks, The Butcher and Supercollider, on 12-inch vinyl in celebration of Record Store Day on April 16, reports Rolling Stone.

Only 2,000 copies of this limited edition record will be available in each region, according to Radiohead fan-site At Ease. The album will only be available as part of international Record Store Day, an industry-wide event meant to encourage fans to visit and support independent music stores.

"The Radiohead @recordstoreday release that @pitchforkmedia and others are talking about today is UK ONLY," notes the official Record Store Day Twitter feed.

Those lucky fans who do manage to get their hands on a copy will be in for a rare treat. Although the band has performed Supercollider live during their 2008 In Rainbows tour, the recorded version will likely be notably different – and The Butcher has almost never been heard before now.

Those eager for a taste can listen to frontman Thom Yorke perform Supercollider solo during a concert in Dublin in 2008.
