Rafaël Harvey-Pinard: The Canadian announces a lower-body injury

Rafaël Harvey-Pinard didn’t finish the Canadiens’ game last night in Arizona.

He looked pretty bad as he headed to the dressing room, and we knew it was pretty serious when we heard he wasn’t coming back to the bench.

That said, the Habs have just given us some news about the little forward.

We’re talking about a lower-body injury… And the Quebecer will be evaluated on a daily basis:

All right.

Has anyone ever said that the Habs aren’t lucky when it comes to injuries?

The fact that we’re talking about a daily assessment in his case may suggest that we’re not talking about a necessarily very, very serious boo-boo, but still.

The Habs lose (another) forward to injury, and that’s the bad news.

It will now be interesting to see what decisions Martin St-Louis makes for tomorrow night’s game against the Blues.

Harvey-Pinard has had the opportunity to play on the first line in the team’s last few games, and the coach will have to find a replacement for him. Last night in Arizona, Joel Armia had an audition on the CH’s first unit after Harvey-Pinard left the game.

Can we expect more of the same tomorrow night in St. Louis?

Let’s not forget that Christian Dvorak could return to action tomorrow. The center-forward, who hasn’t played a game yet this season, has been skating with the group for several days now, and seems close to a return.

Stay tuned for more news tomorrow.

That said, I don’t expect the club to issue a recall before the game in St. Louis because there are twelve healthy forwards at the moment, and because the club returns to Montreal after tomorrow’s game.

Gossip

David Savard, Kirby Dach and Chris Wideman are currently on the CH’s injured list.

Dvorak and Carey Price are on the LTIR.
