Recall of Noukie’s toys

There is a risk of strangulation for children playing with Noukie’s brand toys.

Noukie’s voluntarily recalls its Oscarine and Leontine Train Rolling toys. It has also completely withdrawn the product from the market. This is a pull-along sound-emitting soft toy train with wooden wheels and a soft toy squirrel.

These toys are designed for children under 36 months. Parents who purchased this for their children are asked to return the toy or stop using it immediately. This includes toys bought online.

The European Commission explains the danger faced by young children: "The product poses a risk of strangulation due to the presence of a cord longer than 220 mm which can extend to 570 mm under a force of 25 N. Considering the length of the cord and the presence of a knot at one end, a slip knot could be formed while playing with the toy, and thus children under 36 months runs the risk of strangulation while playing."

In addition, the European Commission says these toys do not even meet current safety standards.

Parents are advised to return the toy to the company directly or to the store where they bought it.
