Recycled hotel rooms in Germany and Austria

Converted drainage pipes provide cozy and affordable accommodations.

No longer just a pipe dream, one of the more unique – and affordable – accommodations to come along in awhile, DasParkHotel offers pay-what-you-can rooms in Austria and Germany… built inside converted concrete drainage pipes.

Each room is fashioned from a length of freestanding concrete pipe, large enough for a double-bed – and not much else. A circular porthole has been opened in the top of the pipe to give some natural light, while the ends of the pipe are closed off to provide a cozy space protected from the elements.

There is no concierge. Guests reserve a room online and are given a unique security code for their pipe’s door, ensuring that only they have access to the room during their stay. Fresh linens are stored in the room and guests make up their own bed upon arrival.

Each room is equipped with under-bed storage for luggage, and power outlets to charge cellphones and digital cameras.

Currently, DasParkHotel operates in Bottrop-Ebel, Germany and Ottensheim, Austria.
