Witherspoon is ranked the highest paid actress, according to The Hollywood Reporter, even though her last film, Rendition, which also starred her boyfriend, Jake Gyllenhaal, did not have great box-office success.
The 31 year-old actress earns between 15 and 20 million dollars for each film. Actress Angelina Jolie came in second on the list, earning 8 million dollars for her role in Beowulf. Jolie was paid $20 million for her role in the 2005 film Mr. & Mrs. Smith.
Cameron Diaz, who earns 15 million dollars per film, is named third on the list. Diaz provided the voice to Princess Fiona in the last Shrek film.
Nicole Kidman occupies the fourth spot on the list. The 40 year-old star, who can be seen on December 7 in the film The Golden Compass, earns between 10 and 15 million dollars per film.
Renee Zellweger, Sandra Bullock and Julia Roberts (who can next be seen on December 25 in the film Charlie Wilson’s War with Tom Hanks) also earn similar salaries to Kidman.
