Reese Witherspoon could join a cast that includes Philip Seymour Hoffman and Jeremy Renner in the next film by Paul Thomas Anderson (There Will Be Blood). The working title of the new film is The Master.
This project, inspired by the life of Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard has been delayed because several studios pulled out citing high production costs.
According to Premiere magazine, the project will now be moving forward and shooting will start in June. Hoffman will play the guru, Winterspoon will be his wife. Renner will play Hubbard’s right hand man.
Witherspoon is currently on location in California where she is shooting Water for Elephants with Robert Pattinson and Christoph Waltz.
She also stars alongside Jack Nicholson, Owen Wilson and Paud Rudd in the dramatic comedy How Do You Know scheduled for release on December 17.
