According to Variety, Witherspoon, 30, has pulled out of the film, which will be directed by Joe Carnahan for Spyglass Entertainment.
Bunny Lake Is Missing is the story of a mother who reports the disappearance of her daughter. During the investigation, police are soon convinced that the daughter never existed in the first place, and begin to question the mental health of the mother.
Filming will be delayed until a replacement is found for Witherspoon.
