Renee Zellweger will be teaming up with Craig Zadan and Neil Meron, the producer of Chicago, to co-produce the television film Living Proof. The film is based on the work of Dennis Slamon, who will be portrayed by Harry Connick Jr.
Dennis Slamon is a professor at UCLA who developed Herceptin 2, a breast cancer treatment. He had to work very hard to continue his research, which led to the success of saving many women’s lives.
Zellweger, who strongly supports the fight against breast cancer, immediately accepted the part as producer after reading the screenplay.
Dr. Slamon is a physician who treated Nanci Ryder, the actress’ publicist and close friend.
However, The Hollywood Reporter revealed that it was out of the question for the actress to star in the Lifetime film.
