Richard Gere Has a Busy Schedule

Richard Gere has not yet finished shooting Hachiko:  A Dog’s Story, and already has two other projects lined up.

After Gere finishes Hachiko, he will start filming Amelia opposite Hilary Swank.  This film is based on the story of Amelia Earhart, a legendary pilot who disappeared in the Pacific Ocean in 1937, during a trip around the world.  Gere will play her husband, editor George Putnam.  Amelia will start shooting next month in Toronto, Nova Scotia and South Africa.

Gere will also star in the police drama Brooklyn’s Finest, alongside Don Cheadle and Ethan Hawke.  This movie shows three unconnected cops that end up at the same crime scene.  One of the officers is dealing with drugs, the other with corruption, and the third has played by the rules on the police force up until his retirement.

Gere can be seen on the big screen on October 3 in the movie Nights in Rodanthe, opposite Diane Lane.
