Richie Sambora Sentenced

Richie Sambora was sentenced yesterday for drinking and driving.

Sambora pleaded guilty yesterday (April 22) to a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol at a court in Newport Beach, California, reported People.

Bon Jovi’s guitarist was sentenced to three years of probation, three months of alcohol education classes, and has to pay a fine.

The 48-year-old musician was not present for the hearing, but had a lawyer representing him.

A Laguna Beach police officer requested that Sambora be charged with endangering the life of a child, but prosecutors did not wish to pursue that charge.

Sambora was arrested in Laguna Beach on March 25.  His blood alcohol level was tested at .13, when the legal limit is .08.  He was driving with his girlfriend, Jenn Mallini, his 10-year-old daughter, Ava, and a young cousin.
