With the release of her newest single, We Found Love, from her new album, Talk That Talk, R&B star Rihanna has broken Madonna’s record for getting 20 top 10 hits in the shortest amount of time.

Rihanna is now the fastest solo artist to get 20 tracks into the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart, in just six years and four months – besting Madonna, the previous record holder, by a whopping five months.

The R&B singer first broke into the top 10 in June 2005 with her single Pon De Replay, which peaked at number two. As of this week, with her debut single jumping from 16th place to ninth, Rihanna not only broke the record, but is the first artist to get a full 20 tracks into the top 10 since Mariah Carey achieved the honor in 2000.

The record, however, only applies to solo artists. When bands are included in the tally, the Beatles still hold the fastest time, taking only two years and seven months to push 20 songs into the top ten back in the ’60s.
