The Lilith Fair all-female touring music festival kicks off on June 27. Another big name was just added to the list of performers. Rihanna announced yesterday that she will be at the July 12th show in Salt Lake City. The complete North American itinerary is now public knowledge.
Rihanna will be stopping by the tour while she is on her own summer tour, Last Girl on Earth. She adds her name to a growing list of female artists who are joining this unique tour, back after an 11-year hiatus.
Lilith Fair starts in Calgary on June 27 and will stop in 36 cities. The last stop on the tour is August 16 in Dallas, Texas. Canadian stops along the way include Montreal, Toronto, Edmonton and Vancouver.
Each concert features 11 artists. Each artist normally performs at only one or two shows on the tour. There’s one exception; Lilith Fair founder Sarah McLachlan will be at every show between June 27 and August 16.
Here’s a look at some of the other female artists that fans can expect to catch this summer at one show or another: Sheryl Crow, Norah Jones, Cat Power, Erykha Badu, Emmylou Harris and some popular 80s bands, The Bangles and the Go-Gos.
